when i would show up at ten thirty to that
apartment on capitol hill, your friends
were already drunk and dazzling in their
designer clothes, bought on server wages.
we would go to the corner store and buy
champagne. as we sipped the night would
wrap around us. we got tangled the trees
would grab us like disabled children and
drag us screaming and laughing across
the dim penthouses and back alleys of jet city.

I have started doing street photography with a 35mm. SLR.
I am slowly moving towards ever-higher-quality and ever-more-cumbersome methods of photographing strangers. First I snuck up on bros with a digital point-and-shoot. Then with a DSLR. Then with a DSLR and tripod. Now I am doing it with a manual-focus, manual-aperture film camera.
Eventually I will be chasing bros through the streets of San Francisco carrying a fifty-pound view camera with a few plates of 8X10 and a composing cloth slung over my shoulder...
