not sure if im alt.

today i was talking to a friend (guy). i wished to express the sentiment usually encoded by the phrase "pussy-whipped". being a feminist, i felt the term 2 b sexxxist. so, i said "pussy-enamored" instead.

in some ways i feel this is more accurate as well, since "whipped" doesn't often mean "impressed to the extent of being under the control of" outside of the phrase "pussy-whipped," while "enamored" does have this meaning and is commonly used.

plz try 2 figure out if im alt in commentz.

on the topic of "being enamored," i read this today in the NY Timez:

“We must never lose sight of what’s at stake,’’ Mr. Obama said. Sounding much like his predecessor, former President George W. Bush, he warned, “As we speak, al Qaeda continues to plot against us.’’

I used to be Obama-enamored, but it's fading.

honeymoonz's over.

no, will do so however.

i am processing some fashion photos. in most photography, it is considered a defect when highlights "blow out" i.e. when light areas of the image are so bright that they clip to a uniform white, which results in complete loss of detail. This often happens to faces (of light-skinned people) and is considered "bad". it means that the sensor "swamped" in certain areas- during the exposure, some of the pixels absorbed so much light that any subsequently-arriving photons were ignored and all color information was lost.

i am noticing it has happened often with these models, who often wear bright white, highly polished (reflective) foundation. is this a desired effect? are models "supposed" to have perfectly white faces, devoid of detail, in photos?

either way i do not like it. i will adjust camera settings next time so i can pick up facial detail and color. my pixelz will not be swamped again.

normally, the camera uses a linear function to determine brightness of a pixel during an exposure- every photon is "counted" as much as every other. double your photons, double your brightness.

however, i can also program the camera such that the brightness of a pixel is proportional to the logarithm of the photon count. the first photon counts the most, the second counts less, the third still less, and so on. i can program it such that a prohibitively large number of photons would be needed to reach full brightness (equivalent to the number that would hit the sensor if the flash fell on a perfect mirror perfectly parallel to the lens). swamp that motherfucker.
